FEDDEM FSK Strand Die Head

Compact And Easy to Operate

The FEDDEM strand die head optimizes the forming of strands for pelletizing.

FEDDEM FSK strand die heads are compact and easy to operate. Electrical supply lines to the heaters and cables to the melt sensors are concealed for protection against accidental damage. It is possible to pull out the extruder screws without dismantling the melt sensors. Uniform strand thickness across the die plate results in better product quality and better performance with low- or unfilled compounds. ‘Curling’ of the outer strands is reduced, considerably. Up to 25% more die holes in a single row can be placed on a curved die plate at a given die width while the same distance between die holes is maintained.

FEDDEM FSK strand die heads are available for retrofitting of extruders of other manufacturers.

Curved Die Plate

The curved die plate relaxes the melt flow pattern at the outer die nozzles.

The patented FEDDEM curved die plate is employed in special applications (patent No. EP 2424721). While keeping the same die width the number of the die holes can be increased by up to 25 % without changing the hole diameter or the distance between die holes. Normally, a second row of holes is avoided.

The curved die plate reduces the difference in flow length to the nozzles in the middle of the plate versus the flow length to the outer nozzles.
