K 2019 - Come and See us
For the fourth time in a row, FEDDEM GmbH & Co. KG will be exhibiting at the K trade fair, Hall 15, Stand A42. As a manufacturer of extrusion and compounding lines the focus this year will be on our extensive portfolio of complete systems for a wide range of applications as well as our LFT-PT long-fibre pultrusion lines.

At K 2019, we as mechanical engineering experts based in Sinzig, Germany, will present our latest equipment series for producing LFT-PT compounds that meet the highest demands of the industry. We now offer LFT-PT systems for laboratory purposes (5 strands, with throughput rates starting at about 7 kg/h) and for large-scale production (up to 60 strands, with throughput rates of well over 1,000 kg/h). "The core of our expertise lies in our twin-screw extruders in LFT-PT applications. Following the concept of ICX® Technology FEDDEM’s MTS-series extruders are matched with optimised LFT components for producing top-grade LFT pellets," explains Klaus Hojer, Business Development and Account Manager at FEDDEM.
Flexibility for Compounders
Nowadays, the majority of compounders must cope with frequent product changes. Minimising changeover times is therefore key to success. We not only supplie compounding lines that are tailored to specific applications. With our MTS/MTV series of extruders and ICX® Technology, we offer the best conditions for minimising costs and efforts that are involved in changing product. "Thanks to our kneading block-free screws and FEDDEM mixing elements (FME), we are in a position to extend the range of applications of a given screw configuration when processing related compounds and, consequently, we reduce the need for frequent screw changes," Hojer elaborates.
Where required, pre-assembled extension units allow extending resp. shortening the extruder’s processing section to adapt to the required processing length. At the fair, we will exhibit the FED 26 MTS 32 L/D twin-screw extruder with a pre-assembled 10 L/D extension unit that can extend the extruder to 42 L/D. This enables the compounder to convert the processing length of the extruder within a few hours to adapt to mixing processes that require a longer or shorter processing section, respectively.
